I really want my car to be fine with no problems, but if there is a problem I want to figure it out and get it dealt with but I'm feeling the dealer isn't taking me seriously and just stringing me along. Finally she agreed to talk to my dealer about my issue and that someone would get ahold of me in 2 days. Today I called Hyundai Canada to get information on this issue (a written procedure and what determines abnormal consumption) to which Hyundai Canada kept referring me to my dealer and that she didn't have that information. I asked what is considered abnormal consumption, and again no answer. Then I asked how often do I have to come in to check my levels until either my car is cleared, or it's determined there is a consumption problem. They have never given me a sheet of paper about this. They asked me where my oil consumption report was in my vehicle to mark down what they topped up. I just went again (5000kms post oil change) and they topped it up again. I told them when I check, it appears that my oil levels are decreasing, and so they topped up my oil, and documented the amount. The third time (3000 km after my last oil change) I finally pressed the service advisor to show me how they check oil so I knew I was doing it correctly, and I was doing it correctly (I'm not mechanically inclined). The first couple times they said I had no consumption however I had been documenting my own dipstick levels with photos every week, which showed decreasing oil levels.

My ranty story: I have been going to the dealer every 1000 km (I'm in Canada) after having a diagnostic done to determine if there was a reason I had very low oil levels in my car after an oil change. I'm looking to see what people may know in this sub of normal procedure to determine oil consumption for Hyundai and what is considered normal/abnormal oil consumption. In addition, many newer engines use thinner, lower-viscosity oil, such as. I'm having a frustrating time with the dealer regarding determining if the oil consumption on my Tucson (2017) is normal or not. Once an engine gets beyond perhaps 75,000 miles, and certainly past 100,000, increased oil consumption should be expected.
